Will We Let Trump Start World War III?

April 14, 2017

What did I just say about the consequences of praising Donald Trump for dropping bombs on Syria?

While everyone sat around trying to figure out if Trump has any coherent long-term plan to actually help the Syrians, in his typical ADD style, Trump lost interest in Syria within days and dropped a bomb on Afghanistan.

Not just any bomb, but the “mother of all bombs,” a 21,600 lb. monster carrying the equivalent of 11 tons of TNT. They say you could see the mushroom cloud from 20 miles away, which must have given Trump the biggest boner of his life. Too bad Melania was in New York.

How effective was the bomb? So far, no reports of civilian casualties, which is miraculous. But it only took out 36 ISIS fighters. That’s about 610 pounds of TNT per fighter.

And the bomb itself cost about $16 million.

American taxpayers just killed 36 terrorists for $444,444 apiece, and that doesn’t include fuel for the plane. Trump has said he LOVES spending other people’s money, the more the better. Launching indiscriminate attacks anywhere he thinks he sees a squirrel, wasting military resources and millions of dollars for minimal gain, is one of the few campaign promises he’s actually following through on.

So what’s next? Trump’s been talking smack about North Korea, and they’re saying if Trump wants nuclear war, they’ll be happy to oblige him.

Will Congress stand there and let Trump obliterate the planet in his sick obsession with diverting attention from his bromance with Vladmir Putin? That’s all these provocations in the Middle East amount to.

Trump has no convictions and no strategy for resolving any conflict anywhere. He just likes bombing things because he thinks it makes his dick look bigger.

What we’ve got is an egomaniac with no moral compass who won’t hesitate to kill masses of people — innocent or not — just for attention. Even better if anyone praises him for it, especially if it’s Putin.

Another well-armed maniac, Kim Jong Un, is playing “Chicken” with Trump right now, and Trump won’t let North Korea come out ahead. If someone doesn’t find a way to pull the plug on Trump’s new bomb habit, now that he’s proven beyond a doubt that he thinks war is a game and he can’t be trusted with the nuclear codes, we may all be toast.

When Did We Elect Jared Kushner?

April 6, 2017

By Karen

After discovering that being president eats into his time watching Fox, tweeting, playing golf, and wasting taxpayers’ money feeding his ego with nostalgia rallies all over the country, Donald Trump has dumped most of the job’s heavy lifting onto his son-in-law, Jared Kushner.

Thanks to nepotism gone wild, we now have a rookie 30-something with no government experience making decisions on important domestic matters, whenever he’s not off somewhere undermining our professional diplomats’ work on foreign affairs.

NY Daily News photo

From what I could gather, here’s what Jared currently has on his plate…

  • Coordinate building the Mexico wall
  • End the opioid epidemic
  • Revamp the Veterans Administration
  • Manage all trade deals
  • Roll out broadband access nationally
  • Fix the criminal justice system
  • Oversee $1 trillion in infrastructure projects, guaranteed to attract big developers like Jared’s father
  • Handle diplomatic relations with Canada, China, and Iraq
  • Monitor the National Security Council regarding North Korea’s nuclear threat
  • Negotiate peace in the Middle East, because he’s Jewish
  • Head the newly formed Office of American Innovation to introduce Trump’s corrupt business practices into government

I believe Trump tapped Jared for this workload because he sees any man who wants to (and does) bang his daughter Ivanka as a kindred spirit he can totally trust.

Let’s look at Jared’s qualifications. He inherited his father Charles’ real estate business at age 24 when his dad went to prison for witness tampering, illegal campaign contributions, and tax evasion. Charles is now free and back at the reins, and he’s given top jobs in the business to fellow ex-cons he met in prison.

Jared has never attempted any business project without backing from the Kushner family, and the moment in 2009 when he pulled his head out of their ass to marry Ivanka Trump, he took one deep breath and inserted it firmly up Donald’s ass, where it remains today.

I wonder if Trump’s own sons, Uday and Qusay, oops, I mean Eric and Donald Jr., harbor any resentment toward this kid whom Dad has chosen to run an entity far greater than any Trump Organization — the United States of America.

If Jared ever has a question or feels unsure, he can always consult the wisdom of the bloated orange man-baby whom ISIS has astutely pegged “a foolish idiot.”

The cliché, “The blind leading the blind,” has never been more apt.

It seems inevitable that Jared will be unable to bring his plate-spinning act to a successful conclusion. When they come crashing down around him, what will Donald do? Take responsibility for his own inability to lead or delegate duties appropriately, or throw Jared under the bus? Obama could probably answer that.

Just when you think Trump can’t sink any lower, he positions his beloved Ivanka’s husband to take his fall when things fall apart — and Jared doesn’t seem to see it coming.

Apple’s Win Would be Terrorists’ Gain

February 23, 2016

Apple’s refusal to help the FBI access San Bernadino mass-murderer Syed Farook’s iPhone is a joke. The world leader in creating innovative devices and software devised this super-tricky password feature that wipes an iPhone clean after 10 failed attempts to get in, and they want us to believe they don’t have the code to bypass it.

Well, I think they do — they just don’t want their customers to know it.

It’s like KFC claiming Colonel Sanders deleted ingredients from his secret formula for delicious fried chicken when he retired from the company, and they’re OK with that.

Apple CEO Tim Cook wrote an open letter to customers to justify Apple’s disingenuous stance. The implication is that Apple employs no one trustworthy enough not to steal the code and use it with evil intent, or sell it to the highest-bidding hacker. It’s just human nature.

It also implies that Apple itself can’t be trusted. Cook writes: “And while the government may argue that its (the code’s) use would be limited to this case, there is no way to guarantee such control.”

Apple’s been given permission to write their code in a closet, slip the results to the FBI through a crack under the door, and then immediately destroy the code.

But Apple thinks it will somehow become a “master key” out in the public domain that anyone may use to hack into any iPhone at any time.

Who could possibly be responsible for that happening except Apple?

It’s the old slippery slope tactic. You know, “If we let gays marry, people will be marrying their dogs next.”

Cook also claims: “The government could extend this breach of privacy and demand that Apple build surveillance software to intercept your messages, access your health records or financial data, track your location, or even access your phone’s microphone or camera without your knowledge.”

Does he really think none of this happens now? My iPad Mini tries to track my location every day.

There’s a supreme irony in Apple fighting to maintain the purity of the very devices its customers use to splash the illustrated minutiae of their lives all over the Internet.

And the government already has access to whatever crumbs are left. Let’s not kid ourselves. The TSA can even fondle your boobs and stick its hands down your pants.

If Tim Cook is allowed to obstruct justice and spit in the faces of the San Bernadino victims’ families, he’ll certainly gain a lock on the terrorist smartphone market. ISIS can rely on Apple’s protection, no matter how many slaughters are coordinated on iPhones.

But if one more dead terrorist turns up with another inviolable iPhone after another domestic massacre, I don’t think it would be remiss for the feds to charge Mr. Cook with aiding terrorists and being an accessory to murder before and after the fact.

If Not for Hate, then Killing for Nothing is Better?

So Craig Hicks in Chapel Hill, NC, a father of two, shot in the head, execution-style, three college students in his condo complex: a 23-year-old man, his 21-year-old wife of only a few months, and the wife’s visiting 19-year-old sister. All the victims happened to be Muslim, and the women wore traditional Muslim dress. They were murdered inside the condo the newlyweds shared, presumably after letting Hicks in the door.

Hicks later turned himself in to police and his wife made a statement that the murders weren’t because her husband hates Muslims. No, her husband’s beef was over a parking space.

Oh, OK. That sounds SO much more reasonable.

By all appearances, it was a little of both. We may learn that Hicks is a man who pays attention to just enough news or right-wing propaganda to think all Muslims place no value on human life because they allow an Islamic lunatic fringe group (ISIS) to rampage among them in the Middle East, destroying towns and killing mostly other Muslims.

And Hicks has the good fortune to live in a country where any idiot can own a gun and think it’s a good idea to murder THREE people over a parking space because they shouldn’t mind being dead.

There’s plenty of blame to go around here, but I place most of it on a cowardly Congress for allowing the NRA to bully it into continuing to give even the stupidest humans the right to bear arms.

Just like in the Muslim world with ISIS, when is the body count in the U.S. ever going to be high enough for decent people to start demanding strict federal gun control laws to rein in the madness?

I say “federal” because the states can’t handle it. In Virginia, it’s perfectly legal for kids UNDER AGE FOUR to shoot firearms.

So what will we tolerate next, toddler-inflicted fatalities over who gets to ride the swings at daycare?

Obama and the ISIS Double Standard

September 11, 2014

By Cole

After two grisly beheadings, President Obama has finally stopped dithering and plans to swat at ISIS with air strikes and squander more money and men to train local troops and rebels who, at any moment, might toss their American-made weapons to ISIS and run like little girls.

It wouldn’t matter if Obama decided to send 300,000 ground troops to rampage through Syria and Iraq (again). Ten years from now, a fresh generation of twisted Muslims will still be committing mayhem.

The only real fix here is for Muslims in the region to decide enough’s enough, unify against their own lunatic fringe, and stamp it out themselves.

But when do Muslims ever do that? Never. Instead, they just follow our lead.

The U.S. has no grounds for complaint about ISIS when we tolerate — legally sanction and even glorify— terrorism just as brutal right here at home.

Reading excerpts from Obama’s speech today, I got a hearty laugh at these priceless gems:

“We will hunt down terrorists who threaten our country, wherever they are.”

“This is a core principle of my presidency: If you threaten America, you will find no safe haven.”

Buddy Boy, where have you been? Look out the White House windows. Our streets run red, too. Our terrorists are “Defenders of the 2nd Amendment.” Newspapers across America chronicle their atrocities every day. They’re a band of thugs, sane and insane, armed to the teeth, who may randomly mow down adults, children, and pets in their homes and in public places.

NOBODY is safe from being senselessly killed anywhere, any time.

How is this any different from what ISIS does? Are you saying one man cutting off another man’s head is worse than a 9-year-old girl blowing off her shooting instructor’s head with an Uzi?

And here it’s all perfectly legal. Our terrorists only face penalties if they get caught and their attorneys can’t lie well enough to convince a judge and jury they DIDN’T do it.

Why are we in a lather about ISIS when, if they were here, they could get their hands on assault weapons and continue killing, with the added assurance that a good chunk of the population would just shrug it off and defend their right to be armed?

The world is in a sorry state when civilized nations with good reason to fear ISIS look to the United States for leadership in confronting irrational evil.

Why We Can’t Fix Iraq

June 25, 2014

By Cole

ISIS is having a blast rampaging through Iraq, seizing buildings and oil fields, and showing everybody what badass al-Qaeda rejects they are.

But what will they do with Iraq once they’ve got it? When they realize how tedious running a country is, will they decide to stick with their strength and go off to conquer the next weakest link?

The Iraqi government would love for the U.S. to swoop in and kick ISIS’ butt so Iraq’s so-called leaders can keep their own skirts clean and their money in the bank. And why not? We’ve been willing before to pour limitless blood and money down that rat hole.

But this is the same government that wanted us completely OUT in 2011 and forced Bush to agree, leaving that clean-up job for Obama so Dick Cheney can now blame Obama for doing it.

Sadly, it’s the innocent Iraqi people who pay for our stupidity. Saddam Hussein understood Iraq better than that useless turd we left in the punchbowl, Nouri al-Maliki. We have only ourselves to blame for giving ISIS a reason to exist.

We abhor Koran-misquoting nuts who grasp at any flimsy reason to start “holy” wars, yet we tolerate our own Bible-misquoting nuts who can walk down almost any American street armed to the teeth, blow away innocent people on deluded pretenses, and then walk free to do it again.

“Gun rights” is our euphemism for terrorism in the U.S., and it’s legal. We’ll even defend people’s right to commit it on a mass scale. So what right have we to claim moral superiority over ISIS or any other terrorists?

Hell, we give national face time to blood-thirsty lunatics like Cheney, who scream the loudest for war every time people in the Middle East start killing each other over silly stuff, just like we do here, as if THEY’RE the only ones with a problem.

So, as a token, 300 of our soldiers are being sent back into harm’s way to play Dear Abby in combat boots, dispensing priceless “advice” to the American-trained Iraqi army, like…

“Keep your clothes on. No war was ever won by soldiers running away in their skivvies.”

“When ISIS attacks, instead of giving them your gun, aim it at them and pull the trigger.”

I say, Iran is much better situated and equipped to sort out the Iraq mess. We should leave it alone. America needs to gets its own house in order before it can preach peace to the Middle East. Our hypocrisy just makes things worse.
