Bourdain’s Breaking Bread with Buds

October 17, 2008

If you’ve been suffering Bourdain withdrawal since the Travel Channel finished doling out the last 6 new episodes of No Reservations, relief is on the way. At the Table With Anthony Bourdain is a fresh special airing in his usual TC time slot on October 20 at 10 p.m. ET. For a preview, check out the 30-second promo.

Tony confirms on his blog that it’s not the debut of a bona fide “series,” but may be a format he’ll use occasionally as opportunities arise.

Speaking of Bourdain’s blog, when I just clicked the link in the middle of his Travel Channel home page, I was hijacked to the site of some interactive design outfit in Brooklyn called Hudson Union.

Guys, you may think you’re clever, but messing with Bourdain’s fans will get you nowhere.

I’ve also been reading that Tony’s working on a documentary about his friend, Ferran Adria, and El Bulli, but could find no other information yet.

Last but certainly not least, Cats Working reader MorganLF gracious provided photos she snagged from the sidelines at Bourdain’s talk and cooking demonstration on October 12 at Caesar’s Palace Hotel & Casino in Atlantic City. He was assisted by Les Halles chef Carlos, whom he has mentioned many times. Notice the (in)famous Bourdain logo on Carlos’ jacket.

You’ll find Morgan’s detailed account of her brush with Bourdain – and the lovely Ottavia – in the comments on my previous post.

Blogger LolaGeek, who was also at the event, captured a frontal shot of Tony and described her experience.
